As fall is upon us, Kim and I are in the midst of some big changes to our restaurant, TheChiliHouse.com, located in downtown Meridian. We are trying to find out what YOU would like to see in a restaurant in Meridian. What attributes would make up "your absolute favorite restaurant"? Here's your chance! Tell us what you want. We are listening! All input is welcome. TheChiliHouse sits pretty in the heart of downtown Meridian. We feel that we have the chance of contributing significantly to making downtown more attractive and successful. Our goal is to provide Meridian with a comfortable, up-scale yet mid-priced, place to go for great food with a great atmosphere.
Sorry this post is so long. Kim and I just really need some input as we start these changes. Tell us what you like , tell us what you hate , tell us what you want . With all of the chain restaurants that have recently moved in, and with those still to come, we are moving quickly to pull some of the attention back to our beautiful downtown, by focusing on what makes a "great place to go" great! So, here's your chance to get what you want! Help! Click on (Lets Talk) then on "Odds-n-Ends" to view recent changes. Then post to our message board (by clicking New topic) what you want in a restaurant!

Friday Nite Steak-n-Shrimp was more a celebration of old friends from near & far than anything else this past Friday night. Everyone was in a festive mood as they shared in congratulating Kim and I on our "guts" in cooking out "red-neck" style in downtown. One of our best customers commented that his table eyed each other in worry after ordering steak & shrimp, and being presented with plastic dinnerware in which to eat a steak! After they finished dinner they came out to my grill and told me their story. To my immediate horror, they had mistakenly been given plastic knives, forks, and spoons for their meal. Our Steak-n-Shrimp dinner is the only one we always use silverware for!! He proceeded to tell me that he and his guests refused the silverware when Kim realized the mistake and offered them their silverware. He said that he and his guests were amazed that they had absolutely no problem in cutting their steaks with a PLASTIC KNIFE! (thank you, God!) He said that the steaks were the most tender they had ever eaten, and delicious. (Thanks again, God!!) I was sweating that one out!! Aaron Dean played Friday night. As usual, they were great. Those guys can play anything. Amazing.
